We’ve got wall-to-wall tricks and treats for you this Halloween weekend!
First up we have the acclaimed animated anthology EXTRAORDINARY TALES in which five of Edgar Allen Poe’s most famous stories are brought to life by such luminaries as actor Sir Christopher Lee, famed producer and director Roger Corman, Dracula himself, Bela Lugosi, “the Warlock” Julian Sands and director Guillermo del Toro!
On Friday we also open the Austrian horror film GOODNIGHT MOMMY Friday. This one has people on the edge of their seats, and sometimes bolting for the lobby. In it, two young boys are convinced that their mother, who has recently come home from getting plastic surgery, isn’t actually their mother, and they will do anything, and I mean ANYTHING to prove it. With lots of twists and turns, and some disturbing imagery, this isn’t for the faint of heart. Especially if you don’t like bugs. Or superglue freaks you out.
Rounding out the night, we have 6 shorts films from the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia. Sitges is the most renowned festival for genre films in the world and we have some of their finest, including films from Canada, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Some are action, some are science fiction, a couple are pretty funny, and the final one, THE LAST HALLOWEEN is pretty terrifying!
Then on Halloween proper, the ghouls will be coming out for our monthly screening of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW! It’s the Denton Delinquents favorite night of the year, so they have some extra special treats up their sleeves (and maybe even a trick or two). Doors open and pre-show begins at 10pm. Tickets are $10. And please, dress up, as there is a costume contest.
So join us at the Kiggins for the best Halloween ever!
