THE QUIET MAN

Our St. Patrick's Day tradition is back! Returning to the Ireland of his birth, director John Ford fashions a charming valentine to the "Auld Sod" in the St. Patrick's Day favorite THE QUIET MAN! Irish-American boxer Sean Thornton (John Wayne), recovering from the trauma of having accidentally killed a man in the ring, arrives in the Irish village where he was born. Hoping to bury his past and settle down to a life of tranquility, he has purchased the home of his birth from wealthy local widow, a transaction that has incurred the wrath of pugnacious squire Will Danaher (Victor McLaglen), who coveted the property for himself. As time goes by, Wayne falls in love with Danaher's beautiful, high-spirited sister Mary Kate (Maureen O'Hara) a traditional Irish girl with her own idea of how she should be courted and a brother who refused to offer up the mandated dowry. THE QUIET MAN is grand and glorious Technicolor fun for the whole family! Local bagpipers will provide music beginning at 6:30 pm (before the movie) with a program of toe-tapping Irish, Scottish, and Celtic music in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Come in early and get extra entertainment. Plus special green popcorn and beer! $10 advance, $12 day of show.RomancePT2H9MNR2026-03-17
